My first excursion in New Zealand was to catch a boat, called The Rock, out of Paihia on the Bay of Islands. The overnight boat tour encompassed several activities, such as fishing, kayaking, swimming with phosphorescence, snorkeling, hiking, and of course, meeting new people who are also traveling.
